I agree with the concerns voiced by other Lactnetters about this idea. 
The public is already confused enough by all the lactation helpers, what 
with course-conferred initials vs IBCLC vs peer counsellors vs. mother 
to mother breastfeeding support volunteers without adding another.

It seems the intent is to build a body of knowlege that any allied 
health professional should have to assist breastfeeding dyads in their 
specialty, and provide some recognition for getting it.  It might be 
more productive for IBCLCs who are already members of those professions 
to convince the educators that breastfeeding is important, and that is 
should be included in the course of study for any HCP.  It is not 
necessary to reinvent the wheel, as the WHO 18 hour course would 
probably do the trick.
