I did respond to Frances privately, but thought the List might also like the
info.

There was indeed a wonderful set of articles in the New York Post on Sunday,
June 22, 1997. It was a two page spread with approximately four related
articles all written by the same female/male team. I was going to post
information about it, but am still waiting for info from the Post on viewing
it on-line.

The major thrust of the pieces was that hospitals in New York City are
profitting in many ways from the formula companies. They also stressed (over
and over) how all this adversely affects breastfeeding.

Why many people may have missed this, I think it is because the Post (even
though a daily city paper) is known more for its sensationalistic tabloid
type of antics then for serious journalism. But these pieces are really and
truly excellent!

If you can get to a library to view it, please do, you won't be sorry. If I
get a response from their webmaster, I will post it to the list. (I do not
have a copy, I read it at the LLLI Conference where someone had joyfully
shared it with the Press Room)

Warmly,
