    Technically, milk is a liquid  secreted by  mammary glands that contains 
lactose (milk sugar) and other constituents (immune  system proteins, 
nutritive proteins, water, vitamins, fat, minerals etc.)
 
    According to this definition, neither soy formula  nor nut "milks" are 
milk.
 
    (tongue in cheek: Although almond "milk" might be  closer to human milk 
than a spinach salad.)
