Being an older mother with several years of breastfeeding behind me, I'd
have to agree with Teresa. My only observation of anatomical changes
over time -- corroborated by only one other person in the same situation
as I am -- is that my nipples got bigger, creating problems you may be
familiar with, including having to use artificial means to keep up my
supply. (No, read it again, I meant a pump, not ABM!)
I have heard, anecdotally, that older mothers have more problems with
supply. This might be related to problems in pregnancy / newborn health,
or management, or workload... Any ideas? I'd love to know what other
people have found. The vast majority of women I have been helping
recently are between 25 and 35, which doesn't give me much of a sample.
