Health Ed. Associates, at one of their seminars, gave what I feel is "the
best" way to initiate dialogue: "Would you like to be able to breastfeed
your baby?" There is virtually no one who would say "no" to this, and when
they answer "yes, but....", everything after the "but" tells you what their
misconceptions, concerns, barriers, etc. are! I use this even on our
postpartum bottlefeeding moms, "Would you have liked to breastfeed your
baby?"--and have had a few "late converts" as a result.
