Breastmilk is actually ANTI-mucilaginous. It breaks down mucous.
Bronchitis is not a contraindication to breastfeeding. If anyone
overstepped their bounds here it is this doctor, imposing his
ridiculous, unfounded preconceptions about breastfeeding on this poor
mother and sick baby!!

>He tells
>her she won't be able to breastfeed for 48 hrs. Just a reference in Dr.
>Hale's book doesn't seem to be enough for these guys. I called the

>somewhere to assist these patients?

How about the AAP's statement on the transfer of drugs into human
milk? It is well referenced and you can't get much more 'official.'

Kellymom also has a nice set of links and references about maternal
anesthesia. http://www.kellymom.com/health/meds/anesthetics.html
