In the aap statement it says bf should be continued for at least 1 yr and as long as mutually desired.

it goes on to say there is no upper limit and no evidence of psychological or developmental harm from bf

into the 3rd yr of life and beyond.



I would focus on that. And state that many people mis-state the aap policy, and that is why you are there

as the expert. If the baby still bf's that means the baby still desires to bf. She is not ready to wean.
