For Katherine Dettwyler,
I loved Ishmael, by Daniel Quinn. I wondered if it was scientifically
accurate. Does his hypothesis of the hunter-gatherer cultures being pushed
out by the agrarian cultures fit with what we know anthropologically? I was
also fascinated by the interpretation of the Bible story in Genesis as being
the myth of the non-dominant culture.
