Hi all
No school this week (I'm a teacher) so I'm trying to catch up with life.
On Sunday morning when I opened my newspaper I found a full page ad (New
York Times - not cheap) for a device that generates noises. It makes a
white noise sound, sound of the ocean and a SIMULATED HEARTBEAT. There
was a picture of a baby on someones's chest. The caption read- heartbeat
sound soothes babies (or something like that). The only problem is they
were selling a machine to substitute for a person. This on Christmas Eve
- family time, or so I thought. It also was the morning after my home
from college "baby" spent an hour or so cuddling and talking in our bed.
She never had to put up with simulations and still cuddles now and then.
I feel so sorry for those babies with their lambskins and heartbeat
sounds. I just can't believe that this is right.
