Hmmh,

I been lurking for months getting my son settled, finally moved into a new p
ediatric practice.

I suppose using the term "nipple rape" is to get ones attention. Well it
certainly got mine.
For me the word rape means an act of violence and power over women (and at
times men). Having personally experienced rape in my teens, I have a hard
time relating my experience to the "nipple rape" being described.

Rape is a violent crime. I am dismayed at the cavalier use of the term
"nipple rape."

Touch is an issue. Women's access to their babies post partum is an issue.
And sadly rape is a major issue for women worldwide as well as it is used
during war and conflict and in peaceful areas to intimidate and harm.

Hoping folks will consider this.

Best,
