I received a call today from a mom concerning some medications. I have
Dr. Hale's '96 edition. Is the '98 edition now available?

She has been on the medication for 3 days. The baby is three months and
completely breastfed. Mom describes baby's bm's as "muddy." Baby is
fine in all other aspects. No fussiness, etc.

Mom is taking amoxicillin for an infection. I read in Hale's book that
it may cause changes in the GI flora. Could this be the problem?

Mom is also on (inhalation) Provencil (sp?) for asthma. I don't think
this is the generic name. Is this Albuterol?

Should mom not worry about baby's bm if everything else is okay?

Thanks.

Aloha,
