Ok, I just read my work email and a new educator just sent an email to our entire Maternity Unit regarding how much volume babies need fed per 24hrs....here we go with the good old famous formula: TOTAL VOLUME INTAKE in a 24 hr period DIVIDED by the weight in kgs = ml/kg/day. (Is there evidence to support this? We are Magnet, they listen to evidence) I have preached the evidence of stomach capacity.....

Just let me know how you all have handled this. This is going to open up a can of worms and everyone is going to be all over me tomorrow. After all of these yrs I thought that was locked away in NICU and a thing of the past out on the floor. Difficult enough to work with in there. Sigh.
