Barbara W-C makes the following comments:
"I'll bet a million dollars that research in human (as in bovine)
lactation
will demonstrate that genetics, and hormone balance and health at the
time
of delivery play a huge role in milk production.
there are all sorts of perfectly"

"confidant women with whom I've worked (of many nationalities) who have
had
issues regarding milk production that had nothing to do with their
attitudes
or with their management."

"I think we keep looking to the "system" for explanations of all that
goes
amiss "

My comments on Hispanic women who bottle feed initially and then go on
to breastfeed was in no way intended to be a full explanation.
Confidence and belief in lactation is, of course, only one factor.
Perhaps I should have preceded my remarks with..."If all other factors
were egual....." One's belief about breastfeeding is often a big
factor, but we have all learned that many other factors that can
overlie, underlie, enhance, detract from, confound, impact on etc. these
basic attitudes. If it was as easy as only one factor, we'd all be
looking for other work!

Winnie
