Our unit has flyers plastered everywhere about 3 one hour lectures that are
up and coming by some Doctor with one of the formula companies (I need to read
the flyers better, not sure which company). Has anyone seen or heard of this
new little "series"? Maybe I missed postings about it. The nurse clinician
who was posting them kept apologizing but our Director lets them come in 2
times a year, each company to do "a talk". Well, this one gets 3 times, I guess.
Yet I don't even have a breastfeeding class offered this year because it is
no longer mandatory on the unit due to budget cuts. It is still mandatory the
new (and old staff who has never done it) staff follow us for 4 hours.

I don't even want to be at work the days this Doctor is there to present his
"wonderful news" about the new formulas. The nurses get so sucked into it.
And there we go....quicker, easier supplementing by nurses who will now be
reassured they aren't harming babies by giving this wonderful stuff.
