I have a friend with Meniere's disease, with older
children, but I can say with surety that she would
breastfeed any baby she might have. One huge
component of meniere's is allergies, another is
overall health. If the mom is overtired, she gets
dizzy. if the teenage daughter (who is also affected)
dances and stays up late, she gets dizzy. My friend
would have done whatever it took to keep her daughter
from suffering this illness, and formula feeding may
increase the liklihood of having it.

that's the next generation- Now, for the mom- which is
easier, lying in bed, dizzy and nauseated, with the
baby latched on, or getting up and falling across the
house to prepare a bottle of formula that will likely
make her sick to even smell? yes, others could bottle
feed, but IME, that is less likely to happen than the
mom has 90% of the childcare to deal with.

there is no clear understanding of this syndrome.
unfortunately, it is progressive, so if she worses,
breastfeeding will be blamed. it fluctuates, so if
she is feeling lousy, breastfeeding will be blamed.
AFAICT, there is no evidence that breastfeeding will
actually affect Meniere's in the mother at all, but
*will* improve the health of the child and make the
child easier to care for. that alone will make the
mother better able to cope.

Kate, http://www.cs.colorado.edu/~kolina/advantages-of-formula.html Mom to Ursula (8.9), Sage (6), Benno (2.8) Speak nicely of others. You never know when they might overhear you and it makes you feel bad when you think ill of others.
