I know that when you microwave a liquid with fat globules in it, like
formula or breast milk, or even gravy -- that the fat gets a lot hotter than
the non-fat portion.  So the liquid might feel fine on a wrist (a few test
drops on mom's wrist to see if the milk is hot enough), but when the baby
gets it in their mouth and the fat globules disperse, they are very hot
inside and can burn the baby's mouth.  Anyone who uses a microwave much
knows that it doesn't heat evenly.
