Good evening,

I just got a call from a mother of a two week old baby. She was in contact
with feces of a fox (don't ask me why a woman has do mow the lawn two weeks
postpartum) and now is afraid she could be infected.

Her doctor told her that echinococcus multilocularis is transmitted via
breastmilk. I searched the net and couldn't find anything about echinococcus
multilocularis and breastfeeding in humans but found a lot about the
transmission via breastmilk in animals.

Does anybody out there know something about the possible transmission?

Any information is greatly appreaciated. Thanks in advance.
