Barb, sounds to me like someone who never had a nursing toddler in his
life. Quite an unrealistic suggestion.

I'm posting the following for a mom of a 2 yr old nursling who needs a
T&A, tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy and she and I both feel this is
inaccurate but just want to hear from others and if there are references
regarding this particular surgery.

"the Dr said that she should NOT NURSE for 2 weeks after surgery because
of the intensity of the sucking.  Does this seem right to you?  Can you
point me to some literature, websites"

Of course I told her that this makes no sense and would he rather she
disrupt sutures and cause bleeding by crying?  My next comment is to
seek another surgeon/second opinion.
