Nancy was asking what mastopathy was.
This is a rather old fashioned term which meant just about anything!
It is often used as a description for the normal benign changes in
breasts also known as fibrocystic 'disease', hormonal mastopathy,
fibrocystic mastopathy and chronic cystic mastopathy. All these terms
describe the breast pain and lumpiness many of us notice on a
cyclical or constant basis.
These changes are not related to cancer, and fibrocystic changes in
the breast do not increase our risk of breast cancer.
The word mastopathy is not related to any tests for breast cancer.
If you want more details Nancy, email me privately as I can send you
some extra stuff.
Hope this helps
