Re: the mother with tachycardia. Breastfeeding should help LOWER her stress,
not raise it. It's having the children in the first place that's stressful,
IMHO!

Two good research articles that discuss how breastfeeding mothers handle
stress better are:

Altemus M, Deuster PA et al. Suppression of hypothalmic-pituitary-adrenal
axis responses to stress in lactating women. J Clin Endocrinol Metab
1995;80: 2954-59.

Uvnas-Moberg K and Eriksson M. Breastfeeding: physiological, endocrine and
behavioural adaptations caused by oxytocin and local neurogenic activity in
the nipple and mammary gland. Acta Pediatr 1996; 85:525-30.
