Stained glass making is listed as a risk for increased lead. (Pediatrics
93:159-163, 1994 & there are oodles of other ref for lead). This lady
really needs to have her lead level checked. Lead can be absorbed by baby
during pg. It is one of the screening questions we ask about lead - was
mom's lead level checked during pg? This baby could be born with a high
level. As we learn more about lead we know that smaller amounts-in the
10-20 range can have effects on school work.

Also the baby should not be exposed to lead post delivery via br milk or
fumes in the home. Mom needs to wear protective equipment when working
with lead and needs to make a work area outside the home (ie: garage
possibly) and have her levels checked periodically. Sincerely, Pat in SNJ
