I wonder whether the Bitish firm that made this stuff (which most of us here
in UK of a 'certain' age were brought up on and, who EVER forgets the smell
and taste, it's imprinted on the psyche/olfactory/taste buds) moved on to
'markets new' when no longer able to sell here in UK - just like formula
companies IMO do. "Ah lets go to so and so country and make a fast easy buck
on the back of ignorance before people wake up to what we are doing"

If you mention gripe water, people will always tell you with fondness about
having it as a baby/child, they will often often laugh and say that is why
they are so fond of a drink. Here in UK we often use the word 'drink' to mean
an alcoholic drink. Gripe water to me conjures up my happy childhood as does
thinking about the smell of J&J baby power. My mother used both for myself
and siblings. I used neither for my two boys because I considered both came
with a health warning! But I feel good and go ahhhhh and mmmm when I think of
these products!
