I also said this: "Does AP facilitate secure attachment? Of course!"
But attachment theory is silent with regard to where a child sleeps,
how he is carried, birth practices, etc.

What I am saying is that attachment theory speaks to the importance of
responsiveness by caregivers so that infants can develop optimally.
Attachment parenting is a set of specific practices that promote
responsiveness, but attachment parenting practices are not the only
way to be responsive and thus there are other ways to parent that
might also form a secure attachment. AP'd children are not the only
children who are attached to their parents. It's easier. I believe in
it. But it's just not true to say that one must AP in order to be
attached to their children. I actually find that concept quite absurd.
