Norma Ritter's suggestion to wear a cotton T-shirt with 2 appropriately
placed holes cut out, underneath other clothing (or under a pajama top at
night) has been very successful for the mothers of twins I work with in
Wisconsin, where winters are quite cold.  Nursing nightgowns do not work
well for nursing two babies in bed at night, as they depend on hitching the
fabric over to center the opening over one breast at a time.  The other
baby gets a faceful of cloth.  The T-shirt idea keeps mom's middle warm
while she raises up the pajama top to nurse the two babies in bed at once.
In this situation, mom can't keep the covers over her shoulders without
covering the babies' heads.  (It's possible with one baby at a time, if mom
lies on her side to nurse, but not two at a time).  The t-shirt under a
sweater or turtle neck also keeps mom warmer and better covered during the
day.  It's a challenge to nurse twins discreetly in public, and this helps
a little bit.

Seems strange to be talking about this when it's sweltering here right now.
