There seems to be a movement afoot to do away with the EDC(expected date of
confinement) and give a two week window of "due "
Makes more sense and seems that it would create less anxiety for the
parents(and the baby)
When teaching an expectant parent class (childbirth or breastfeeding) I
reinforce the fact that term is at the end of the 37th week. ( a good
reminder by Rachel~ this is not 37 plus 7days this is 36 plus 7 days. )
It is not my style to get lost in numbers but mothers need to keep this in
mind when speaking with others about elective inductions .
