They have to hydrate the baby immediately and have a place for iv meds,
hence the glucose iv. They will usually start trophic feeds or very low dose
continous feeds of ebm in a day or so. the first priority is usually
respiratory stabilization. sometimes they put 'total parenteral nutrition'
or TPN in the iv which is a more complete iv feeding if baby cannot yet be
on full gi feeds. good luck to family. baby should be  able to take mom's
milk soon in very small quantities.
