Wouldn't a creamatocrit level vary depending on when the sample was drawn,
ie, hindmilk vs foremilk, etc??? After all, a hematocrit value done in a
finger stick varies depending on how much the finger was squeezed before the
stick to hemoconcentrate!! Any mom who has ever pumped knows that there are
different levels of fat at different times of day as well. Is it done on
several samples taken at different feeds and then averaged? Otherwise, I
would not put much stock in a crematocrit, which BTW should be simple to
do.....we used to do fingersticks in the doctor's office in two minutes, one
to draw the sample and one to spin it out. All you need is a microtube marked
to the 100 level, and a centrifuge meant for doing hematocrits.
