Laurie Wheeler  and Acyclovir:

Acyclovir is transferred into milk at the rate of about  0.6 to 5.8 mg/
Liter of milk,  depending on the study,  and the dose.  At a maternal dose
of 800 mg  fives times daily,  the milk levels ranged from 4.16 to 5.81
mg/L.  Total daily dose per day would be approx.  0.73 mg/kg/day.  Acyclovir
(30 mg/kg/day) is used postnatally for herpes infections in the pedi ICU's
with few side effects.
