I think the name formula is as artificial as we need to be, I just make it clear
to the mom that the ORIGIN of
this milk is a COW or a PLANT and not a human.  I call it "calf's milk" (leche
de becerro - in Spanish) and refer
to the complicated digestive system of the calf as opposed to the digestive
system of the baby.  Frankly, I don't
think it makes a difference to the moms who are considering its use.  And also -
I use it at times.  It is a
necessary crutch and we need to be careful how we talk about it - just in case
that's what need to go in the
SNS while we help a mom through the rough times...
