I am the one who initially responded to Jake's post, expressing that I felt
insulted by her lack of sensitivity to strongly held religious and cultural
beliefs. Knowing it was OT, I still felt compelled to respond, because it
struck a major nerve with me, which I think the author intended. In doing
so, I clearly propagated more OT discussion, for which I apologize.

In her post, it seemed that Jake was just trying to stir up controversy and
get across her agenda. Whatever support she says she received privately
from Lactnetters is of no import - her post was inappropriate, plain and
simple. Other than how it relates to breastfeeding, circumcision is simply
not a topic for Lactnet. This has been discussed to death. Please let
this be the last word on the subject and let us all agree to disagree, in a
respectful way.

Thanks,
Julie Rosen, JD, CD, LLLL
