Okay, I'll be brave enough to offer the crude but vivid analogy that I have
sometimes used: a flush toilet is like a lactating breast.

Most people know that the water in the toilet bowl comes from the tank which
is the "back rest" to the seat. Now, pretend that you must fill the bathtub
with water -- but your only source of water is the [hyper-clean, never-used]
toilet.

After you take the water from the bowl, and put it in the bathtub, how would
you get more water? You'd flush the toilet ... and voila, more water would
appear in the bowl. You'd probably flush and re-flush a dozen times before
the tub would be filled with water.

If the bathtub represents the amount of milk a baby needs each day -- and
the toilet bowl represents the milk from one nursing session -- one can
easily see that (a) baby needs a lot of feedings, and (b) there is an
endless supply of milk *so long as you keep flushing.*
