I had a biopsy when my nursing baby was about 6 weeks old.

For the surgeon, it's a little messy. There will be a drain tube, hopefully
placed pointing away from the nipple. It is definitely moist wound healing.
That, by itself, does not preclude continuing to nurse immediately up to
first meds, then as soon as mom is coherent & in control of her body after
the surgery. I suggest the incision be done radially, like the spoke of a
wheel with the nipple as the hub, if it won't interfere with the surgeon's
ability to do his job.

As for the specifics of lactation during / after chemo & radiation, I defer
to those who are much more experienced.
