<<I do not belive that there is any data showing that increasing mom's
protein
will increase the protein in the milk. most of the studies show that
mother's
diet does not influence milk composition.

the child will be old enough that bm is not the main source of nutrients so
I can not see what bearing mom's diet will have.>>

It is not so much the milk composition that the doctor is concerned about -
more the mother's protein absorption. He says that she needs to eat double
the protein, because her body will not absorb it as well after this
procedure, and that if she is lactating, that will take even more protein
from *her* body.

Does anybody know approximately how much protein is used from the mother's
body to produce breastmilk? Is it possible to tell? Would eating that
extra (on top of the extra her doctor wants her to eat anyway) protein help?
