My children are 1, 4 and 7 and I could count on one
hand the times they've been with a babysitter. My
children are with me. Period. Sure, they are now in
school but the rest of the time, there is my
entourage. they are not puppies, and they aren't a
hobby. When someone complains about them, I stop
frequenting that business and I tell them why.
Generally, I write a letter and offer to engage in
further dialog about why they feel it's acceptable to
ask me to "not bring so many children along next
time." There are baby and child friendly businesses
and they get my business.

And yes, I do frequent hair salons, symphonies, art
galleries, fine restaurants, department stores,
whatever. I did leave my children with my husband
when I had to go to court (for a ticket), but that was
for *my* sake- oh, no, I think I had one along. I
know I had one daughter along when I changed my name.

It isn't acceptable for society to treat humans that
way, regardless of how often they breastfeed. (phew!
on topic.)

A person's a person, no matter how small.
