Gonneke,

Do you find mothers, and in The Netherlands mother/baby in house careers
(kraamverzorgsters!!), tend to label babies as being 'lazy', 'sleepy heads'
& 'difficult nursers' etc? How many times have I had a mother call with a
'lazy baby'! The poor thing, only a week or so old and already labeled as
being lazy or difficult. I actually wonder who is the lazy/difficult one?
I also wonder what dumping a label on such a young baby (or any child) will
actually do for their success at breastfeeding. Other than giving the mother
and all her carers an excuse for when she stops.

groetjes

Sara Bernard
The Netherlands (mom to three 'easy nursers' :-)
