I wrote them this afternoon as well after seeing your email. I am pretty
annoyed by this. It’s not like it's even attached to some initiative. The
photo with the bottles is completely gratuitous -- it would have worked just
as well without the bottles. And to associate it with the message of
"healthy start" is just irresponsible.

I'm so tired of this notion that bottle=cute baby symbol. I went to a baby
shower this weekend and was nauseated by the prevalence of bottles and
pacifiers on the décor and in the activities. My next article for my
breastfeeding site is going to "Breastfeeding Friendly Baby Showers" for
sure.

I got the automessage from MomsRising as well and wrote that I'd appreciate
a reply. If anything comes, I'll forward it on. Thanks for sharing. I had
gotten that email, but hadn't opened it yet.

I hope this forwards to the list. I thought this was a great organization
until I got this from them today. Scroll down to see the bottles with the
babies and the title about getting off to a "healthy
start." I wrote them and got a computer generated response so far.
Hope others will write, too.

Lucy
