Dear Rachel,
I use a very basic computer program to enter data on my pump rentals
(Microsoft Works for WIndows). I enter their name, address, pump due date,
and rate of rental. Then I use the word processing part of the same basic
program to keep billing letters, which I print out monthly. The program
extracts info from the database portion to customize each letter with the
name, address (so I can use window envelopes), due date, and amount due.
Mankes billing a breeze. I can be more specific privately if you like.
I also keep a binder with sheets of vinyl cd holders. The cd holders
are pockets, just the right size for a folded pump rental agreement. Each
pump has its own slot. I keep the original agreement in the book, give the
third copy to the mom, and the middle copy goes in the slot. That helps me
keep track of where each pump is. It's a failsafe for the computer system.
Should be overkill, but I've lost track of a pump or two over the years, and
added the binder for hard copies a year or two ago.
Not the fun part of the job, is it?
