Bienvenidos to our LC exchange group.
It seems we have a goodly number of people on the list who speak Spanish. Now -
perhaps we could help each other with the literature and information that is
sorely needed in Spanish. Right now there are a large number of people that
Dr.Parrilla and I have been speaking to through a breastfeeding eduction program
sponsored by the School of Public Health of PR. Many of the nurses and
nutritionists in the groups have indicated an interest in becoming IBCLC's. We
have IBCLC's in PR, but they are mostly extremely fluent in English. In order
to encourage others to take the test, we also need professional material in
Spanish. If any of the members have the names of original books and patient or
professional literature in Spanish, I would love to learn about them. Please
provide names and publisher's addresses or ways of ordering them. We need the
basic books (Riordan & Auerbach, Lawrence, etc.) translated as well as good
original material for our cultures. Well, Mexico? Dominican Republic?
Argentina? Any suggestions? Please e-mail me (in Spanish or English).
