If this has been posted before, please accept my apologies. I rarely watch
television, and am catching up on posts after lagging far behind on some
digests. I just saw a TV commercial which showed a briefly crying, awake
baby whom the mother picked up. She began unbuttoning her blouse or shirt,
while picking up and carrying the baby. Then, she's shown seated, with the
baby in arms, as an older child (about pre-school age), brings a Kellogg
Nutri-Grain bar which the little girl is opening. The child offers part of
the bar to the mother, and the voice-over is about making it easy to get
calcium in your diet and that of your children. I thought it was a lovely,
discreet yet clear, endorsement of breastfeeding within an advertising
message. I do not yet have an address, email or WWW site, but would
encourage anyone who will take a moment to express appreciation for
Kellogg's treatment in this commercial of breastfeeding as the norm.
