As a hospital based LC I am seeing some breastfeed babies with weight loss
being supplemented with formula after nursing per pedi orders, during their
hospital stay. These babies are healthy, moms usually had epidural, maybe
c/section, always IV fluids. I had been to a conference where it was
mentioned that maternal IV use in labor will increase these babies weights.
I found the archive by Marsha Walker for Birth 1988. Does anyone see this
as well? Is there a more recent study? I would like data to show people to
change the management of these babies and give them a bit more time. Thanks.
