Kathy:  Oh please give me a break...did it really say that?  I'll join you
in writing a letter.  It is a scientific fact that while breastmilk is
lower in these minerals, they are absorbed at substantially higher rates.
For example, on average humans only absorb 10% of the iron that they ingest
(ranging from 4% in green vegies to 15% in meat).  In contrast, 50% of the
iron in breastmilk is absorbed.  This is BASIC information that I teach my
undergraduate students in their first nutrition course.  Has this person
ever heard of BIOAVAILABILITY?    It drives me nuts that these things get
into print.
