Pam said: I want to say 'Whoooa, who's baby is this??' - about staff bathing
the babies.

With our last couple of children, my husband told the nurses, "I'd like to
bathe the baby." They were stunned! They couldn't believe a parent would
want to give the baby its first bath! They talked and talked about how nice
it was to see such an involved father.

Now, the scary part is, that when I tell the moms I work with about this
option they are stunned! They can't believe a nursery would allow a parent
to give the baby its first bath! They talk and talk about how nice it would
be for their baby's very involved father.

Now, why, oh why, can't we get together on something this simple if both
sides want the same thing? We see the same thing about breastfeeding
protocols. It seems everyone says they want the same thing, but it way too
seldom works around here!
