I agree with Diane's take on this issue. Well said.

I'm a day late and a dollar short in this conversation, so maybe this has
been covered, but I'm wondering:

What was Marsha Walker's take on Lansinoh's presence.

As a wider issue, I'd love to see us all acknowledge that even the
strictest
Code compliance is by no means the end of the story. I'd love to see a
broader assessment of what's in the best interests of mothers and babies
when conference exhibitors are chosen. Which is worse for mothers and
babies - turning away a major pump company because it provides bottle
teats?
Or accepting a swaddling blanket manufacturer that promotes its product as
"the perfect discharge gift"? As far as I know there's zero research to
support the swaddling of newborns, while assorted studies indicate reduced
cueing and feeding, reduced weight gain, impaired circulation, delayed and
reduced milk supply, and rougher maternal handling with newborn swaddling.
Yet the swaddling blanket company passed muster as an exhibitor.

I'd like to keep the Code as a minimum standard, rely on outside expert
interpretation of its finer points, and take a close and careful look at
the
mother-baby friendliness of *all* exhibitors.
