Hi all,

I have been talking to a mum who had numerous plugged ducts with her
first who nursed to about 2 years. Now baby #2 is about 1 month old and
she has just gotten over the first plugged duct (possibly early
mastitis, fever, resolved without antibiotics) and is not keen to have
the same thing happen. She is very knowledgeable about possible causes,
treats aggressively at the first warning signs, tried lecithin
supplements while nursing the first baby, but nothing seemed to help.
She read recently about using "usnea", 1 drop 4 times daily as a
tincture, to prevent plugged ducts. Anyone heard of this? Anyone heard
of other things for plugged ducts than the usual treatments or
preventions?
