Kathy Auerbach's comments about taste testing ABMs (an excellent
idea) reminded me of a similar incident with a whole range of nipple
creams which we smeared on the back of our hands, rubbed off and
then licked off. The one I tasted was foul. It left me with a nasty
chemical taste in my mouth for some hours. I could imagine a baby
kicking up a storm and no-one understanding why.

There was a lot of variation, I suggest you never recommend a product
for nipples again (including thrush treatments) without tasting it
first!
