Lactnetters,

Please read below a message concerning the duplicate digests some of you
were reporting. Looks like it has been resolved at L-Soft's end.

Kathy, for the other list mothers...

Subject: This week's message duplication

Dear L-Soft Hosting customer:

I am writing regarding email delivery events that started Tuesday afternoon,
April 25th, during which unintentional duplicate list messages were sent to
subscribers of your lists.

These events were triggered by a planned change in our hosting
infrastructure. This, very regrettably, did not go as planned, and the
rollback from it was more involved than anticipated. There were no external
triggers to these events (i.e., no security breach or maleficence of any
kind). We did this to ourselves, and worst of all, to you, our loyal
customer.

We are relieved to be able to report the duplicate messages issue has been
resolved. Our servers have been free of newly-generated duplicate copies
since approximately 12 noon US Eastern yesterday (Thursday, April 27th), and
we tested repeatedly during the course of Thursday afternoon, before issuing
an "all clear."

Please accept our heartfelt apologies for the inconvenience and aggravation
this situation has caused you and your subscribers.

I am available to address any questions or concerns you may have. Please
contact me directly by email at <[log in to unmask]> or by telephone at
+1 240 296 1234 (my direct office number) or through our main number at +1
301 731 0440.

Sincerely,

John Harlan
