patronizing and idiotic....

Well, frankly Laura, I was absolutely tickled to hear this information.

I was just humming along assuming my children slept at night after weaning
and now I know that they will never sleep since they nursed to sleep for
nearly every nap and bedtime until they weaned.

I guess I will be busy for the next 80 years or so. First to the California
coast to nurse the oldest each night so he can get to sleep (I am sure the
Air Force will be happy to see him sleep, finally.) Then to Tucson in the
fall to nurse the middle one to sleep so that he will do well at University
of Arizona. I can't imagine how he will pass his classes since he will
NEVER sleep on his own without nursing. It will really get tricky next year
since my youngest is planning on going to the University of Pennsylvania.
My evenings are going to be very long getting them all to sleep. I wonder
if I can count on their wives to get them to sleep if and when they get
married?

And what is the deal with those of us who were never nursed? Why is it so
hard for me to sleep at night? According to the audio clip, since I was
never nursed to sleep, I should sleep well all of the time.

Linda Pohl, IBCLC, RLC and just a dumb mother who damaged her kids
permanently by nursing them to sleep...
