I was recently doing an inservice (small group clinical rounds) with some
nurses on the OB floor in my town. I think that during the time I was in one
mother's room, someone knocked on the door or entered about 6 times in one
hour. I was the 7th...I guess. I can't believe how scattered and exhausting
it must be for new mothers in that environment. I was tired enough, and I
had no cell phone and no computer. Can you even imagine that life did not
involve cell phones or computers in 1984? Amazing, and glad that it was
simpler when I was mothering small babies. My babies are almost all grown
up, ..today is the first day when I have no kids in the house. Time flies so
quickly...
