Yes, our unit does use test weights and we find them invaluable in assessing
intake and keeping the bottle at bay. Once baby is bfdg. well consistently,
we no longer do them and use all of the other usual methods to assess bf
effectiveness. We teach moms to do the weights themselves.  Our nurses are
very comfortable with this and everyone is reassured when we can prove baby
is getting adequate intake.
