I did my master's research on how long it takes research (paper) to get into practice for nurses.  Of course I used breastfeeding as my basis of study.  I found that it takes 20 to 30 years for evidenced-based research to get from paper to practice with regards to breastfeeding research. (while we all sit around swearing and gnashing our teeth).  The most interesting factor was most nurses absorbed info best in ed sessions presented by their place of work (hospitals). Hint, hint.  Pat in SNJ
